One of the most popular destinations for travelers from all around the globe is Italy. People have all sorts of romantic notions of Italy, and the country lives up to the hype. from the northern areas in the Alps, to the busy and ancient cities to the hilly farmlands to the breathtaking coasts, Italy is one of the most beautiful places in the world. And if you're considering tours of Italy, you're making a good choice. Tours of Italy will take you to a number of places and regions in this Mediterranean country. Here are a couple of places that all tours of Italy should go to.
One of the best places to visit on your tours of Italy is the capital, Rome. Rome is nicknamed the Eternal City, because, well, it seems like it's been around forever. A walk through the city certainly seems to support this claim. Rome is a wonderful walking city and some of the most famous buildings are here including the Coliseum and the Pantheon. Rome of course is home to another country - a rare distinction for a city. The Vatican is located within Roman city limits, but is not technically part of Italy. Luckily, there are no difficulties visiting, and it is a must-see for all tours of Italy. You might even see the Pope!
Good tours of Italy will also venture north. Here is a rarely conjured picture of Italy - snow-capped mountains and skiing. There are some excellent ski resorts along the Swiss border. Also to the north is the city of Venice - perhaps the most romantic city in the world. But what else would you expect from a city built entirely on canals?
Other tours of Italy will take you to the south and Sicily. Sicily has become famous for its ties to American gangsters but it is a breathtaking and rustic island with gorgeous hills and valleys. Sicily is just off the coast of Italy near Naples, another beautiful city.
No matter where your tours of Italy take you, the sad truth is that you'll never be able to see it all. There really is no place like Italy and I recommend that you look into taking your own tours of Italy, visiting the places that you've always wanted to see. Take plenty of postcards, and prepare to eat the best food you've ever tasted in your life!
